About Anna

Anna B. Moore’s first novel, Don’t Pity the Desperate, won a Sarton Women’s Book Award for Young Adult Fiction from Story Circle Network in 2024. She’s published fiction and nonfiction for the last twenty-five years in literary journals like American Scholar, Shenandoah, The Offing, Pithead Chapel, Black Warrior Review, The Missouri Review, Smokelong Quarterly, Hippocampus, and many others. Two of her essays have been nominated for Best of the Net and another was a notable essay in Best American Essays 2023

She is a longtime writing and literature professor at California State University in Chico, where she has helped educate fabulous, curious students for the last twenty-five years. She lives with her husband, two grown children, and four adorable pets in a one-hundred year old home shaded by a beautiful black walnut tree. She is currently working on her second novel.
